Senior Information and Dates

Please accept my apologies for any confusion that may have been caused by us not
getting your family the following information more quickly. It has been given to
seniors, but I am sending it to you to make sure all are informed. We know this is a
very important event and that the following information should reduce confusion
and questions. The Cumberland County Civic Center is a great place for graduation
for both graduates and families. We look forward, as you do, to the graduation of the
Class of 2012. Please feel free to contact Mr. Scully, Mr. Stinson and/or Mr. Morin if
you have any other questions about the Graduation for the Class of 2012. Thanks!

Senior Finals/Senior Week Schedule:

May 31st: Final Exams for Blocks 4-5
June 1st: Final Exams for Blocks 1-2-3
June 4th: Class Trip
4:45am arrive at MHS
5:00am Buses Depart MHS
8:00pm Buses Return to MHS
June 5th: Marching Practice (8:00am-1:00pm)
Possible lunch provided 1:00pm
June 6th: Marching Practice (8:00am-1:00pm)
Senior Night (6:00pm-10:15 pm)
5:00pm Seniors arrive at MHS and meet in the MHS Auditorium
6:00pm Senior Awards and Slide Show
Following the awards presentation refreshments in the Café
9:00pm-10:15pm Hypnotist for Seniors only
June 7th: Graduation
4:15pm Seniors meet in the Auditorium
4:30pm Load the buses (all seniors MUST travel on buses)
4:45pm Depart MHS for Cumberland County Civic Center (CCCC)
6:00pm Arrive at CCCC, Doors also open to the public
7:00pm Graduation Begins
Following Graduation students depart for Project Graduation
5:30am Students return to MHS from Project Graduation.

Marching Practice:

1. Marching practice is mandatory, scheduled for 3 days, but if things go
well we can cut it to 2.
2. *Students who miss parching practice do not participate in graduation
exercises. Students MUST be at each practice.

*Marching practice is an important piece of a senior’s final week. Students have
the rest of their lives to work, but only a few days left with their fellow graduates
and only one high school graduation. Since graduation is a privilege and not a right
we expect seniors to follow and families to support the expectations we have for
attendance. These expectations make graduation an enjoyable experience for all!

Tickets/ Caps & Gowns for graduation:

1. All tickets will be distributed at the end of the last day of marching practice
2. **Ticket info – 2 seats on the floor, 10 general admission seats within CCCC
3. Requests for extras made after 1st day of marching practice, if you are not
using all of your tickets please turn in the extras
4. Caps and gowns are given out on the last day of marching practice to those
who do not have any outstanding obligation monetary obligations (Class
Dues, fines, lost books etc…).

**The graduation set-up at the CCCC is for about 3000 spectators, so tickets are not
as plentiful as we would like. Most families can get extra tickets, as not every family
needs 12. We appreciate your understanding of these seating constraints.

Special seating and parking at the Civic Center:

1. Special seating – wheel chair, handicap, hearing impaired, etc… requests are
to be made after the 1st day of marching practice
2. Parking – Is in nearby garages and lots at a cost of $3.00-$6.00 dollars
3. Handicap drop-off is on the Spring St entrance of the CCCC.

Dress Code for under gowns:

1. Girls – light color dress or skirt and top, otherwise will show thru white
gown, comfortable shoes or sandals
2. Boys – dress pants or khakis with button down shirt, tie looks good but
not required, comfortable shoes
3. No jeans, shorts, flip flops, boots, sneakers please
4. Caps may be decorated but tastefully, MHS Administration has the final
approval of decorations made to caps.
