Class of 2016
Senior class dues need to be paid as soon as possible. Dues are $75 and checks can be made out to the MHS Class of 2016 and turned into Mrs. Blair or Mrs. Stephenson. If you want to start a payment plan, for say $10.00/month, we can do that also, so please work with us. Thanks very much!
Special thanks to SRTC for hosting the SRTC Fair. Our students were able to network with a great variety of presenters.
Does your Senior Student need help with their Common Application? In an effort to help students finalize their applications, our counselors are offering "drop-in help" for seniors during advisory starting next week on Tuesday, November 17th in Room 29. This will be a time for seniors to come in and work on their applications with counselors available to assist. Please encourage your son/daughter to come during this time for help in working on their Common App or to address any other college application questions they may have. Thanks!
Are you interested in applying to UMaine Orono??? Massabesic High School is happy to announce that we will be hosting a Senior Application Review Day on Tuesday, December 15 for the University of Maine, Orono. MHS Department Highlights
Wellness classes are playing Badminton, a student and teacher favorite along with continuing their study of mental health. The present unit includes learning on anxiety disorders, personality disorders, schizophrenia, including the physical, mental, social, and emotional effects of those disorders.
Our Advanced Anatomy and Physiology classes along with the SUCCESS students took a field trip to Body World in Portland last week. It was a once in a lifetime experience for students to see actual human bodies that had been donated to science, including examples of organs in various stages of disease. This is a traveling exhibit so it was available for a limited time. This trip was made possible in part by a donation of a community member that wanted students to see this wonderful exhibit.
Our Science Workshop class will be going to LINE Elementary School to visit 4th graders to teach them about waves. This is a chance for high school students to become the experts in their subjects and give younger kids someone to look up to. Everyone involved always has a great time.
The Following Girls Cross Country Runners will be competing for the New England Championships on Saturday at Thetford Academy in Thetford, Vermont! Emily Wasina, Maquilla Dimastrantonio, Roshelle Morrison, Brianna Drew, Emily Cyr, Hallie Benton, Alexis Ducharme, Madison Bantz, Hope Saucier.
