Dear Parents and Guardians:

It is our hope that the Empower Report Card that is going home with your son/daughter is sharing with you the overall success you expect from your son or daughter. Our school’s efforts during Semester 1 were made to instruct our students in the kind of skills and content they will need to be successful in the 21st Century. Academic success is earned and achieved through the commitment and follow-through of three groups working together: Your sons and daughters, our school’s staff and through the support and guidance of you, our parents and guardians.

Having now reached the beginning of Semester 2 the formula for student success or improvement will not change. A student’s and family’s commitment to academic success means: Maximizing effort into learning while in class, taking advantage of the extra supports available when needed, regular communication between home and school as an expectation! If you feel that more of a team approach is needed and/or you feel that communication between home and school was lacking during Semester 1, please contact your son or daughter’s guidance counselor to set up a meeting with teachers immediately! Meetings such as these will enhance the academic focus your son or daughter may need, by demonstrating the commitment you expect all to be making!

EACH & EVERY student at Massabesic High School has the opportunity to earn, create and/or develop their success during Semester 2! Student success occurs through the demonstration of proficiency and earning of credits occurs with focused efforts from our students, teachers, and you our parents/guardians. Opportunities for student success are always available and need to be taken advantage of during Semester 2, as the staff of MHS is ready, willing and looks forward to our students taking advantage of our staff’s expertise and availability to increase their success!

My best,

Christian M. Elkington
