Stadium lights

We are very excited to get things started tomorrow and look forward to a great season, warmer weather and no snow!

I wanted to review a few things for this week.

  1. The group list have been created in Thrillshare so I will be able to text each individual group as needed throughout the season.
  2. To start tomorrow all students need to be registered and cleared by the nurse.  Anyone who has signed up as of Friday has been reviewed by our nurse and calls have been made if physicals are not current.  All athletes require proof of insurance as well as any medical concerns cleared by a doctor and reviewed by our nurse before participating.  Lastly all need a current impact test on file with the Athletic trainer.  Most should have taken it by this time of year but any new students to sports in any grade or students in grades 9 and 11 who have not taken an Impact test this year are required to take one.  There is a link on the Activities Web Page in the “Menu” to take the test at home if need be.  It will not work on a phone or iPad.
  3. The Activity bus will run M - Th for all needing it.  We do not have an activity bus on Fridays.  The Activity bus leaves at 4:15pm.

The practice schedule for tomorrow is as follows.

Baseball- Gym 2:15pm to 4pm

Softball- Gym. 4pm - 5:45pm

Girls Lacrosse-  Gym.  5:45pm - 7:30pm

Boys Lacrosse-  Gym   7:30pm - 9:15pm

*Please be considerate of transitions in the gym between one practice ending and the other starting.  Stay in the hall or locker room until the first team leaves the gym.

Boys Tennis will travel to Biddeford May St Fields to practice from 3pm - 4:30pm M / W / F.  Tuesday and Thursday they will stay with the girls and have access to the late bus.    We will transport the students to and from Biddeford with pick up time being 5pm at MHS.

Girls Tennis will practice after school outside or in the east gym this week and have access to the late bus.  The courts are not ready yet so we will be playing wall ball and other drills until they are good to go

Boys and girls track will warm up in the east gym after school and work outside.   Track will also have access to the late bus.

Academic Eligibility

Eligibility for the spring season is based on the current progress report which will be posted this week.  I have reached out to many early who had an academic concern.   Anyone failing more than one class will be placed on academic probation meaning they can practice but cannot participate in scrimmages or games until their grade is recovered.   They have 10 school days to get their grades to 2.5.  If students are unable to get to 2.5 in 10 school days they will be removed from participation.

If anyone has questions please reach out!  We are close to 200 students participating in spring sports this year and my goal was 200!   Bring a friend to practice tomorrow and have them sign up!
