On Monday, April 8th, millions of Americans witnessed a total solar eclipse! Did you know there won’t be another one to cross North America from coast to coast until 2045? We did some fun activities to build our knowledge of this upcoming event, watch the total solar eclipse from NASA, as well as view that start of the eclipse right here in Shapleigh! What an amazing learning experience for all.

The weather certainly did not cooperate last weekend for the much anticipated and tasty Maple Syrup Weekend and many were not able to go out to enjoy the festivities! Thank you to a special donation from the Knox family of the Irish Maple Sugar House in Shapleigh, all children got a special treat on Monday of vanilla ice cream with topped with real maple syrup. This tasting went along well with our lesson on how to make maple syrup that were completed last week!
