As part of National School Bus Safety Week, RSU 57 hosted a BBQ for our Transportation Department and celebrated staff for the incredible work they do to keep our students safe on and off the road. Additionally, students across RSU 57 created designs that showed what "Safely Rolling to My Destination" means to them. Transportation staff had the opportunity to view all of the incredible designs and vote for their favorite. The Grand Prize Winner's design will be featured on the 2024 National Bus Safety Flyer!
Thank you to our Transportation Department employees for their continuous hard work and dedication to serving our community.

On October 14th, NJROTC cadets participated in their first Drill Competition in Dover, NH. After competing against four other schools, our Academic team took home first place! The Academic team is a group of cadets who have studied the NJROTC curriculum in-depth and go above and beyond what a typical cadet is expected to know in terms of academics. The next Drill Competition will be on October 28th in Oxford, MA. Way to go, Mustangs!

Massabesic High School's NJROTC program toured Maine Maritime Academy earlier this month. Cadets participated in hands-on activities aboard the 61-foot, 102 year old, wooden hulled schooner Bowdoin. They also learned about celestial navigation in MMA's planetarium and explored wet and diesel engine practical laboratories.
Additionally, on September 27, NJROTC provided Color Guard and Honor Guard to Army Sergeant Victor Acox, who will celebrate his 99th birthday next month. Cadets were asked to sign a commemorative flag along with combat veterans and supporters who were present. MHS Seniors Bryce and Brayden Emerson, Sophomore Dan Harriman and Freshman Grace Shipman volunteered for this event.
