The RSU 57 Curriculum Committee warmly invites all students, staff, and community members to attend an upcoming Community Forum on Tuesday, May 13 at 6:00 PM in the Massabesic High School East Training Center. This forum will provide an opportunity to share updates on the RSU 57 Strategic Plan since its implementation last year and to strengthen connections between our schools and the broader community. As part of our ongoing commitment to building meaningful partnerships, we value your insights and ideas as we explore new ways to collaborate in support of our students and the greater RSU 57 community. The evening will begin with a brief presentation, followed by a discussion focused on the four key areas of the Strategic Plan: students, staff, community, and facilities. We hope to see you there and look forward to your participation in this important conversation!

Massabesic Adult and Community Education (MACE) is proud to celebrate the 19 graduates who have earned their high school equivalency (HiSET) since July 1, 2024—with 8 more students on track to graduate before the end of this school year. Earning a high school credential opens the door to a wide range of opportunities. Our recent MACE graduates are considering career paths in fields like education, construction, electrical work, CNC machining, and military service. A high school diploma or equivalency is more than just a piece of paper—it’s a critical stepping stone toward a stable, meaningful career. In fact, 63% of jobs in the U.S. require at least a high school diploma, and individuals who earn theirs see, on average, a 53% increase in income over ten years. Whether you're looking for a better job, a more consistent schedule, or a fresh start, completing your high school credential is a powerful first step. We invite the entire community to join us in celebrating the accomplishments of these hardworking individuals at our upcoming graduation ceremony on June 18. All are welcome to attend. Contact Massabesic Adult and Community Education at 207-247-2022 to begin your journey today!

On Friday, Massabesic High School hosted a special assembly during Mustang Time to celebrate junior Devenny Brickett, who was recently named Sanford Regional Technical Center’s (SRTC) Student of the Year. Devenny is currently enrolled in SRTC’s Health Occupations program, where she is working toward her CNA license while also serving as Class President and Vice President of the Student Council. A member of both the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society, Devenny has completed over 200 hours of community service and excels in athletics and competitive dance. Passionate about nursing—especially palliative care—she values the hands-on experience SRTC provides, which has strengthened her commitment to patient-centered care. During the assembly, SRTC Director Matt Petermann presented Devenny with the Student of the Year award, joined by her proud mother, KyleAnn. Devenny will be formally honored at the MACTE Student of the Year Banquet on May 3rd at Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor. Congratulations, Devenny!

It is with great excitement and pride that we announce the recipients of the Model Mustang Staff Award for the month of February! This award is a tribute to those outstanding individuals who embody the qualities of a true “Model Mustang”; they inspire, lead, foster positivity, persevere, and excel in all that they do. Each Model Mustang was nominated by colleagues who took the time to acknowledge and celebrate their coworkers’ exceptional contributions to our district. Their hard work and commitment have not gone unnoticed, and we are grateful for the positive impact they have within RSU 57! This month's raffle winner is Sophie Manning, Science Teacher at Massabesic Middle School! "Sophie is a positive, dedicated, and reliable team member. She is always thinking of ways to improve our school and team culture. She has incredible relationships with her students and holds them to a high standard. She is involved both in school and out of school with coaching and is on various boards and committees - all for the better of our students. She inspires me as an educator and is a pleasure to work with each day." Click the link below to view the full list of Model Mustang Award recipients. Last night, the RSU 57 School Board proudly recognized the MHS Girls Wrestling Team for their incredible achievements this season. The team secured historic wins by claiming the Class A State Championship and then competing at the New England Championships, where they placed third out of over 100 schools across the region. A huge congratulations to our outstanding student-athletes: Olivia Goodrich, Aesa Brock, Sydney Cyr, Savanna Thyng, Sophie Grundhuvd, and Neveah Grundhuvd. Additional congrats to Neveah and Sophie, who dominated their weight classes and were crowned New England Champions. Athletic Director Daniel Lawrence highlighted the team's hard work, discipline, and resilience throughout the season. None of this would have been possible without the guidance of Coach Joe Eon and Assistant Coaches Leo Amabile and Lucas Labbe. We are so proud of this team's dedication and success and their representation of MHS and the greater RSU 57 community. Way to go, Mustangs!
